Any time a patient wants to pay 100% in full for an item or service and asks not to submit a bill to his or her insurance, immediately refer the patient to a Patient Financial Counselor (PFC). The Michigan Mental Health Integration Partnership — or MIP — is now accepting proposals for the MIP Scholars Award, a new funding opportunity for Fiscal Year 2018.The award will support U-M faculty who are interested in implementing and evaluating mental health services or clinical interventions that promote integrated care and that seek to improve access to evidence-based practices for lower-income and Medicaid-eligible populations with behavioral health care needs in the State of Michigan.Awardees will receive up to $50,000, with the opportunity to match the award 1:1 with Medicaid funds from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Please be advised that a project to make necessary concrete block repairs in the Taubman South (P3) parking structure is scheduled to begin on Sunday, Dec. 4. The project will take place in the Level 3 stairwell, adjacent to the elevator lobbies, and is expected to be completed by Thursday, Dec. 8 or Friday, Dec. 9. Plan ahead if parking in the structure. Learn tips for healthy eating this holiday season

This December, there will be free education materials available for UMHS employees on the topic of healthy holiday eating for the entire family. One display, located in the UH Cafeteria, includes materials focused toward children. The other display is located in the Cancer Center Nutrition Education Area on Floor B1 and provides educational materials geared toward adults.
