Superheroes reported for duty!

Friday, April 28 was National Superhero Day!

C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital invited all their Super Victors and Super Team Members to join in the annual celebration.

The highlight of the day is usually the building’s window washers washing patient rooms in superhero costumes and waving to patients, families and staff.

Rain made that impossible this year, but the crew from Global Building Maintenance showed their true superhero spirits by greeting and taking photos with patients in the Jones Family Center and infusion unit.

“This was so incredibly kind of the Global Building Maintenance team,” said Luanne Thomas Ewald, M.H.A., FACHE, chief operating officer of Mott and Von Voigtlander. “We’re so grateful for their partnership over the past several years to make National Superhero Day so special for our patients and families.”

Faculty and staff were encouraged to dress in superhero gear and there were activities for patients and families, including cape and mask decorating and onesie decorating in the NICU.
