The 2023 American Heart Association’s (AHA) Washtenaw County Heart & Stroke Walk is taking place this Saturday, May 20, at Rynearson Stadium on the campus of Eastern Michigan University. There’s still time for people to get involved who wish to support the event by participating as a walker or making a donation.

Why should I support the 2023 AHA Heart & Stroke Walk?
Since 1949, the American Heart Association has funded more than 770 research grants at Michigan Medicine totaling more than $74 million. Current funding of more than $11M is supporting 34 active projects.

Michigan Medicine has been a top supporter of the AHA Washtenaw County Heart & Stroke Walk for many years. The organization’s goal for this year is to raise $40,000 to support life-saving science and help local community members live longer, healthier lives.

How can I support or participate in the AHA Heart & Stroke Walk?
It’s easy to get involved! To register as a walker (up until the morning of the event) or to make a donation, visit the Michigan Medicine AHA Heart & Stroke Walk web page.

Additional information about the AHA Heart & Stroke Walk can be found in a story posted earlier this year in Headlines.
