23 years ago, the Barnes family created the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes as a way to help patients and families say thank you to their nurses. 

Today, on Barnes’ birthday, the foundation is asking you and your loved ones to share your favorite stories, memories and experiences in nursing. Please post your videos, messages and/or photos on social media with the hashtags #PatsDayofJoy and #DAISYAward.
