Description

As a Michigan Medicine leader, you might ask why is a just culture important and how do I build fair and just accountability in my area? Building a just culture requires finding and fixing system issues while also understanding individual choices and behaviors.

Our HRO tool, the Performance Management Decision Guide (PMDG), is designed to ensure you correct the right causes when things go wrong. Together, the PMDG and high reliability leadership skills foster trust and psychological safety amongst team members. There is no punishment for unintended errors or mistakes driven by system problems, and there are fair consequences for intended decisions to act against a rule.

In this 2-hour course, you will reflect on your current performance management decision-making within a just culture framework and practice using the Performance Management Decision Guide.

Location: Zoom, please register at Quality Dept. Patient Safety Foundations: Building a Just Culture with the PMDG
