Week in Review: Hearth Month ends, Women’s History and Recognition months begin

The calendar flipped to March this week and Headlines got into the spirit! On Tuesday, the newsletter highlighted the team behind ventricular assist devices to close out Heart Month. And then over the next two days, there was a special Women’s History Month and Recognition Month feature.

Living longer on ventricular assist devices

Over the years, the evolution of ventricular assist devices has led to significant improvements that have allowed heart failure patients implanted with the device to live longer and with an improved quality of life. To kick off Women’s History Month, Headlines caught up with a number of researchers in the biomedical sciences at the U-M Medical School. These groundbreaking team members explained what got them interested in their disciplines and what advice they have for girls who may want to follow in their footsteps. Check out their story.

It’s National Recognition Month!

March is National Recognition Month, and it’s a great opportunity for us to reflect on the remarkable amount of recognition our faculty and staff receive for their efforts. Recently, patients and their families have sent in incredible notes of gratitude toward our team members. Click here to see just a few of these heartwarming stories.

Vital Voices create Vital Actions: Faculty and staff engagement survey launching soon

The annual Vital Voices faculty and staff engagement survey is launching soon, and Michigan Medicine wants to hear from you!
