The Michigan Center for Interprofessional Education’s annual IPE Awards for Innovation and Excellence is seeking nominations now through March 6.

All faculty, students and staff in U-M health science schools and colleges (Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses) are eligible for nomination by colleagues and collaborators. Self-nominations are welcome.

The IPE Awards honor students, faculty, staff and teams who have displayed excellence in teaching, scholarship or leadership in the areas of interprofessional education (IPE) or interprofessional practice (IPP). Those recognized will have developed or implemented IPE/IPP across the U-M health science schools.

Awards are given in the following categories:

  • Student Award for IPE Innovation and Excellence: $500 awarded to an individual and/or team of students based on their development of innovative curriculum, organizational change, IPE practice opportunities, and/or scholarship in the realm of interprofessional education.
  • Faculty/Staff Award for IPE Innovation and Excellence: $1,000 awarded to an individual and/or team based on their development of innovative curriculum, organizational change, IPE or team-based collaborative practice opportunities, and/or scholarship in the realm of interprofessional education.

Awards will be presented at Health Professions Education Day (HPE Day) on April 4. If the award is given to a team, all winners will split the prize accordingly. Additionally, award recipients will share a short presentation at HPE Day.
