11 units earn hand hygiene compliance honors

Congratulations to the following units, which earned the highest hand hygiene compliance scores at U-M Health in February: SICU, CCMU, 8DNS, CPU prep/recovery, CVC PACU, radiology prep/recovery, PT/OT, SSS, UH PACU, Von Voigtlander OR and Von Voigtlander PACU. 

These units will be added to the Infection Prevention and Epidemiology hand hygiene honor roll, along with: 12E, EVS, PICU, 12W, PCTU, CVC5-ICU, CVICU, 5C, MSSU Blue, 8B, TBICU, Mott OR, 5A, 5B, 11W, MSSU Maize, 4C, PFANS, MPU prep/recovery, Brandon NICU, 8E, CVC5, 4A, 4B, CVC OR, 6C, 8A, 6B and 7A.

Excellent hand hygiene is one of the best ways to protect yourself and patients from infections. Please encourage each other to wash hands and use “Clean-Remind-Thank”:

• Clean in and clean out of patient care areas
• Remind someone if they forget
• Say “thanks” if someone reminds you
