Severe winter weather preparation – Feb. 22-23

February 22, 2023  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources, ,

Please be advised that severe winter weather is expected to hit the region Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, through Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023. Departments and staff should always be prepared and review Michigan Medicine’s Severe Weather Plan to help ensure the safety of all staff, patients and visitors.

Because of the organization’s commitment to providing exceptional patient care, all U-M Health System and Shared Services personnel are considered critical employees and are expected to report to work during regularly scheduled shifts in the event the university declares an emergency reduction in operations.

If severe weather happens, the organization will implement its meal ticket and cot distribution program. This program can be utilized by faculty and staff at the discretion of managers and supervisors. Please note, the gymnasium on 9C of University Hospital will not be available for staff members to sleep. Team members should work with their manager to find a place to rest. Staff should not call or go to the CSR office unless they have been given a form signed by their manager that they have been approved to receive a cot and meal ticket.

Employees working remotely will continue to work from home and are not to come into the office unless directed to do so.

If you have any questions, please contact your manager or supervisor.

Please stay tuned to the Employees @ Michigan Medicine Facebook page for any necessary updates during the storm.
