‘Revelations: The Veiled Series’ photography exhibition now showing at University Hospital

Michigan native, former Air Force journalist, and portrait photographer Takeisha Jefferson gives artistic life to those lost to time.
She uses a digital and mixed media technique heavily influenced by painting, art history and daguerreotype/wet-plate photography.
Providing a glimpse into her forgotten and unknown family history, Revelations: The Veiled Series is a study of the veil, both literal and figurative. Jefferson’s works often present historical narratives challenging the traditional canon. Finding inspiration from her ancestors, elders, and her four children, Jefferson uses the intersection of history, current events, and hope for the future to tell stories through her lens.
