There is a new union at Michigan Medicine.
The United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals union – or UMMAP – was officially recognized by the organization last Friday, Feb. 24. It is made up of more than 900 diagnostic technologists who perform scans and studies. It was formed after a majority of the members voted to ratify the union.
“We look forward to working collaboratively with the new union that represents our valued diagnostic technologists, who play an important role in our patient care teams,” said David Miller, M.D., president of U-M Health. “As with all of our employee groups, we hope to work toward our shared goal: providing the best care possible for the patients of University of Michigan Health.”
