Important update: Sharps containers

Please note, this applies to areas on the main medical campus only

U-M Health is transitioning over to a more sustainable approach for sharps bins. 

The organization has contracted with Daniels Health to install and provide reusable sharps containers. Daniels Health will be conducting training at the unit level and will be reaching out to get this training scheduled.

Installation of reusable sharps bins will begin on Feb. 11 and should be finalized by March 3.

In the meantime, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy [EGLE] has granted U-M Health one final extension of the 90-day dating regulatory reprieve. This extension will be valid through Feb. 28.
