5 units earn hand hygiene compliance honors for January

Congratulations to the following five units, which were the highest performing areas for hand hygiene compliance in January: SICU, CPU prep/recovery, radiology prep/recovery, lab/phlebotomy and the Von Voigtlander OR. 

These areas will be added to the Infection Prevention & Epidemiology hand hygiene honor roll, along with: 11W, 12E, PCTU, 5C, 6B, CVC5, CVC5-ICU, SSS, PICU, PFANS, MSSU Blue, 4A, Neuro ICU, Von Voigtlander PACU, 12W, pediatric ED, 8C, CCMU, 5A, RC, 7W, CVC PACU, Brandon NICU, 8E, MPU prep/recovery, 8A, CVICU, EVS, 7B, 7E, TBICU.

Excellent hand hygiene is one of the best ways to protect yourself and patients from infections. Please encourage each other to wash hands and use “Clean-Remind-Thank”:

• Clean in and clean out of patient care areas
• Remind someone if they forget
• Say “thanks” if someone reminds you
