The Spring Festival – or Lunar New Year – is underway, ushering in the Year of the Rabbit. University Hospital 4C celebrates Gold Beacon Award

Congratulations to the 4C Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery step-down unit at University Hospital! This impressive team earned a Gold Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, becoming one of only 168 units nationwide to currently hold the honor. How stories have the power to heal and transform

Rana Awdish, M.D., has quite the story to tell. After a life-threatening experience during her fellowship, she has devoted her medical career to emphasizing empathetic, coordinated career. In May, Awdish will address the graduating class of the U-M Medical School at their commencement story. Learn Awdish’s story and the values she will try to pass on to the next generation of doctors.

Michigan Medicine has long been an active advocate for improving environmental sustainability and stewardship of earth resources. Soon, the organization will launch new initiatives and programs that will deepen this commitment – and you will be asked to play your part. Take a closer look at these plans, which are designed to protect our most valuable resources.
