Five units earn hand hygiene compliance honors

Congratulations to 7E, CPU prep/recovery; CVC5, SSS and Von Voigtlander OR, which all were recently named the top performing units for hand hygiene compliance in December!

Those teams will be added to the Infection Prevention & Epidemiology Honor Roll, along with: 11W, Brandon NICU, PCTU, 12E, 6A, 6B, 12W, PICU, CICU, SICU, MSSU Blue, radiology prep/recovery; TBICU, CVC5 ICU, MPU prep/recovery; 7C, 5B, 8DNS, EVS, lab/phlebotomy, 4A, CCMU, UH PACU and PFANS.

Excellent hand hygiene is one of the best ways to protect yourself and patients from infections. Please encourage each other to wash hands and use “Clean-Remind-Thank”:

• Clean in and clean out of patient care areas
• Remind someone if they forget
• Say “thanks” if someone reminds you
