Plan ahead and expect delays: Road work around Ann Arbor

Please be advised of road work and traffic disruptions expected to take place around Ann Arbor in the coming days.

Plan ahead and expect delays and alert patients if they will be traveling in the area. 

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Beginning today and lasting until Thursday, Dec. 1, East Washington Street is scheduled to be closed to traffic between South Main Street and South Fourth Avenue.
    • Eastbound vehicles on West Washington Street will be detoured on Main Street either north or south to Huron Street or Liberty Street, to Fourth Avenue and back to Washington Street.
    • Westbound vehicles on East Washington Street will be detoured south on Fourth Avenue, west on Liberty Street, north on Main Street back to Washington.
    • Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the north side of Washington Street.
    • Local access will be maintained.
  • From 7 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 until 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, East University Avenue between South University Avenue and Willard Street is expected to be closed.
    • Northbound East University traffic will be detoured east on Hill Street and then north on Church Street to South University Avenue.
    • Southbound East University traffic will be detoured south on Tappan Street and then east on Hill Street to East University Avenue.
    • Eastbound South University Traffic will be detoured south on Tappan Street and then east on Hill Street to East University Avenue.
    • Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the west side of East University Avenue.
    • Local access will be maintained.
