A constant state of Afib
Atrial fibrillation, or Afib, is a condition in which the heart beats irregularly. An estimated 6 million Americans have some form of Afib, which can lead to stroke and other complications. One of those patients, Kris Nicholoff, said Afib was impacting his quality of life — until he came to Michigan Medicine for treatment. Student-led research shows effectiveness of Michigan Medicine’s COVID-19 telephone triage hotline
In the early days of COVID-19, the only thing that seemed to spread faster than the illness itself was fear. For many, even mild symptoms were cause to seek immediate answers. To help, Michigan Medicine created a triage hotline for COVID-19 screening — largely staffed by medical students. Learn more about this important work and the research that has come out of it!
