The board of regents voted Thursday to elevate Eric Barritt’s title to senior associate vice president and chief development officer, Michigan Medicine, from associate vice president and chief development officer, Michigan Medicine.

This change recognizes the critical role that Michigan Medicine’s Office of Development plays in the overall success of the university’s fundraising efforts.

Barritt began as the associate vice president and chief development officer of the Michigan Medicine Office of Development in June 2015. He leads a team of more than 125 development professionals with annual fundraising production of more than $200 million. Under his leadership, Michigan Medicine raised more than $1.5 billion during the Victors for Michigan Campaign, exceeding its goal by $500 million.
