Plan ahead and expect delays: Road work around Ann Arbor

Please be advised of upcoming and ongoing road work around Ann Arbor. 

Plan ahead and expect delays and alert patients if they will be traveling in the area. Here’s what you need to know:

  • From today until 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, South University Avenue between Church Street and East University Avenue, and East University Avenue between South University Avenue and Willard Street Street are scheduled to be closed. 
    • Westbound South University Avenue traffic will be detoured south on Church Street to Hill Street and then north on Tappan Street back to South University.
    • Eastbound South University traffic will be detoured south on East University, east on Hill Street, north on Church Street back to South University.
    • Northbound East University can access South University via Tappan Street or Church Street.
    • Local business access will be maintained and pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the north side of South University and west side of East University.
  • Beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, there is expected to be a northbound closure of Main Street at the Miller Avenue intersection.
    • Vehicles will be detoured west on Ann Street, north on Ashley Street, east on Kingsley Street back to Main Street.
    • Work is scheduled to be completed by 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17.
  • Beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, Platt Road between Washtenaw Avenue and Canterbury Road is anticipated to be closed.
    • Southbound Platt Road traffic will be detoured east on Washtenaw, south on South Huron Parkway back to Platt.
    • Northbound Platt Road traffic will be detoured north on South Huron Parkway, west on Washtenaw back to Platt.
    • Westbound Canterbury Road traffic will be detoured southwest on Hampshire Road, south on Chesterfield Drive, east on Packard back to Platt.
  • From 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, the following streets are scheduled to be closed for the A2 Artoberfest event:
    • Fourth Avenue between Catherine and Huron
    • Ann Street between Main and up to the fire department before Fifth Avenue.
  • From 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, the following streets are expected to be closed for the Mayor’s Autumnal Green Fair special event:
    • South Main Street from William Street to Huron Street.
    • Liberty Street from South Ashley to South Fourth Avenue.
    • Washington Street from South Ashley Street to South Fourth Avenue (except for traffic entering/exiting the Washington Street parking structure)
    • Library Lane/Library lot
