Description

Social media is a powerful presence with the potential to impact our lives and careers.  Have you ever been offended by social media posts or questioned if it is worth it to be a part of these platforms? Are you curious how you might use social media to better the lives of others or to support your career?

Social media represents another venue for faculty, staff and students to represent their work and demonstrate our institutional values in digital spaces.

Join the Office for Health Equity & Inclusion and the Office for Medical School Education in our third of four Community Conversations exploring The Age of Social Media: Personal Beliefs and the Professional Persona

Learn from U-M communications leaders on how you can leverage social media while appropriately engaging in hot-button issues, navigating the age of internet trolls, and understand how to thoughtfully participate in highly political social media platforms.

This session will explore these opportunities and share expert legal perspectives about the limitations of our professional environment and discuss what freedom of speech really means in the university context.
