This year, the Quality Month sessions highlight the theme of “Just Culture and Psychological Safety.”

The keynote will kick things off at 9 a.m. on Oct. 4 and will be delivered by Jo Shapiro, M.D.

Jo is an associate professor of otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at Harvard Medical School and the director of the Center for Professionalism and Peer Support, Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The center has become a model for institutions seeking methods to enhance teamwork and looking to help mitigate the epidemic of burnout that is plaguing the medical profession.

In addition to the keynote, the Quality Month celebration will include a panel discussion on psychological safety, a learning session on just culture, and an opportunity to network with colleagues around several relevant and timely issues.

Poster sharing sessions will also be featured throughout the month and a wrap-up session on Oct. 27 will feature this year’s exemplar poster teams and the announcement of this year’s Jack Billi Award for Inspiring Quality Improvement honoree.

Nominations for the Jack Billi Award are due on Sept. 9. Award criteria and the nomination form can be found here.

Additional information can also be found on the Quality Month website.
