COVID-19 booster update
The FDA has approved a new formulation of the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 boosters. With this, the older formulation that Michigan Medicine currently has on site is no longer authorized. This means the organization is unable to offer COVID-19 boosters to people 12 and over. The new formulation has been ordered, but there is not an estimated delivery date at this time.
Michigan Medicine has canceled booster clinics for this week and next, and will call those patients to reschedule when there is an estimated date for the new vaccine. This includes OHS pausing boosters for Michigan Medicine employees.
Appointments for the new booster will be made available as soon as possible.
Updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
