Carve out a new tradition and give blood at upcoming blood drives

September 19, 2022  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Now is the perfect time for you to carve out a new tradition — donating blood to help others in need.

Drives are scheduled to be held on the main medical campus in the coming weeks to make it as easy as possible for you to donate.

The drives are:

  • Friday, Sept. 30: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m., Towsley Dining Room
  • Thursday, Oct. 6: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m., Towsley Dining Room
  • Thursday, Oct. 20: 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Towsley Lobby

There is currently a critical need for platelet donations. Should supply remain low, the availability of platelets for patient care may be impacted. Please consider a platelet donation to the Red Cross.

To schedule an appointment, log onto RedCrossBlood.org (sponsor code: goblue), call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or email Erin Burns at erin.burns2@redcross.org. Appointments highly recommended. Please bring a photo ID.

Streamline your donation experience and save up to 15 minutes by visiting RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass to complete your pre-donation reading and health history questions on the day of your appointment.
Volunteers are needed to help at check-in and the canteen tables. Details about donating or volunteering at the drives can be found here: https://wolverinesforlife.org/events.
