Week in Review: Mott opens state-of-the-art music studio; Adult Hospitals achieve high patient care ratings — and more!

August 12, 2022  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources,

Both C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and the U-M Health Adult Hospitals showed off their impressive patient care efforts this week in Headlines! At Mott, the newsletter featured the brand-new music studio named Sophie’s Place, which will help expand program offerings for pediatric patients.

At University Hospital and the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, executive leadership announced that the organization achieved a new all-time high ranking in overall patient care, according to Press Ganey.

Also this week, Headlines readers got in on the fun by playing a game of Bingo — allowing them to win prizes for following Michigan Medicine social media and other communication channels; and readers learned how to utilize SBAR to improve clarity and reliability.

In case you missed anything, here’s the Week in Review!

Mott opens state-of-the-art studio to expand music therapy programs for kids

Opportunities for patients to record their music and share it with other patients and families … space for celebrity and patient performances, with capabilities for livestreaming performances through the hospital’s closed-circuit TV network … these are just two of the features of Sophie’s Place, a new music studio that recently opened at Mott. Take a look at a photo gallery showing off the new studio and learn about all it will offer to Little Victors!

Adult Hospitals achieve 90th percentile in overall patient care rating

The U-M Health Adult Hospitals achieved high marks in patient care according to the Press Ganey Adult Inpatient Survey comparing patient feedback from more than 560 hospitals and health systems across the country. A score of 92.7 at the end of fiscal year 2022 placed U-M Health in the 90th percentile for overall rating of care. Learn more about this tremendous achievement.
