Slip cast and hand-built forms ceramics exhibition now showing at Michigan Medicine

July 19, 2022  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

The work in this exhibit is comprised of two different stages of Deb Saravolatz’s ceramics.

The first includes her interest in musical instruments and the Nigerian (Ipetumodu) method of hand-built pottery as learned from her teacher and friend Winnie Owens Hart.

The second concerns her fascination with aquatic imagery, both under and on the surface of the water.

Saravolatz creates both slip cast and hand-built forms, primarily in porcelain.

She was born and raised in Detroit and currently works and resides in Whitmore Lake, Michigan.
