Rose Glenn earns SHSMD Leadership Excellence Award
Rose Glenn is a strategic communications and marketing executive, with a long history of contributing to the profession and supporting the growth and development of strategy professionals. She has demonstrated this commitment in her role as a senior leader for teams in multiple health systems, and in her service as a board member for the Society for Health Care Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD), including board president in 2019.
Glenn currently works at Michigan Medicine as the chief marketing and communications officer where she is responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives that further brand equity, engage stakeholders and accelerate growth for the $6 billion health system and medical school.
She also instructs the next generation in health care communication strategy at U-M.
One of Glenn’s passions is mentoring, and she has actively participated in mentoring programs her entire career. She has been a mentor with SHSMD’s mentoring program since it first launched and has received exceptional feedback.
Glenn has been involved in culture improvement for multiple health systems and is currently a member of Michigan Medicine’s Anti-Racism Oversight Committee. Within her own department, she has a “Culture Squad” and DEI team that hosts quarterly lunch-and-learns that she actively participates in as a speaker and a learner. Prior to Michigan Medicine, Rose was the executive champion of the LGBTQ employee resource group at Henry Ford Health.
