Lyrics:
Adults think children are innocent.
But you know that’s nonsense.
You see the truth every time you go to school.
When other children pick on you,
It seems like the world’s so cruel.
Those bruises and cuts will heal,
But not the way the other children make you feel.
Chorus:
But I tell you stand tall and follow your dreams.
Be what you’re meant to be.
Stand up for the oppressed whenever you see them.
Don’t be like the kids who pick on you.
They are the real fools.
They laugh when another person’s on the ground.
They smile when another person makes a frown.
The kids say, you don’t act like a boy or a girl,
You don’t belong in this world,
The beating that you get is what you deserve.
Those bruises hurt even more,
When the adults ignore … the bigotry.
They say you need to change and destroy your inner self.
This whole experience is a journey through hell.
Chorus
Sometimes children like you,
Grow up and shake up the world.
When you grow up, make sure you fight for human rights and animal rights.
Instead of taking revenge, you’ll find the light.
