Description

Nobel Prize laureate Toni Morrison’s Recitatif: A Story is a beautifully crafted, arresting piece about a multi-decade relationship between two women, whose races are never identified. Her only published short story, Morrison wrote it was “an experiment in the removal of all racial codes from a narrative about two characters of different races for whom racial identity is crucial.”
