How much do you know about eating disorders and who they affect? In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, The Wrap employee podcast takes a look at this important topic — and tackles some of the stigma and misperceptions around eating disorders.

Two experts from the Michigan Medicine Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program joined the show to provide insight and tips about managing eating disorders.

About the program

The Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program provides individualized, compassionate, evidence-based care for patients aged 8-22 with eating disorders. Its interdisciplinary services are provided by adolescent medicine physicians, child and adolescent psychiatry and psychology, clinical social workers, dietetics and an educational specialist.

The treatment options are varied, including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient treatment. When higher levels of care are needed, such as a medical or psychiatric admission, the program collaborates closely with the inpatient medical and/or child and adolescent psychiatric unit to facilitate admissions.
