St. Joe hospitals transition to Trinity Health brand
Saint Joseph Mercy Health System and all their employed medical groups, including IHA Medical Group, are undergoing a rebranding process to better align with Trinity Health.
St. Joe hospitals have been part of Trinity Health for more than 20 years. U-M Health has had an affiliation agreement in place with Trinity Health-Michigan since 2012. The affiliation established a foundation for collaborations that improve care for the communities we serve together.
The Trinity Health rebrand includes a shift for St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, which is now Trinity Health St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, with whom we have a number of collaborations, such as our U-M Health-staffed inpatient service U-M Health-staffed inpatient service (often internally referred to at U-M as the MSJ Unit).
The rebrand also introduces a transition for St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea, which became a joint venture between Trinity Health and U-M Health in 2018. The hospital will now be named Chelsea Hospital.
In addition, Mercy Health St. Mary’s and Mercy Health Muskegon, who we collaborate with as part of the Cancer Network of West Michigan and the Cardiovascular Network of West Michigan, are now Trinity Health St. Mary’s and Trinity Health Muskegon, respectively.
The changes are primarily a branding change designed to connect the entities across Trinity Health. Operations and administration of the hospitals are not affected by the name and logo changes.
