May the 4th be with you: C&W celebrates Star Wars Day

Faculty and staff at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital are celebrating National Star Wars Day today!

Thanks to a donation from Disney, Child & Family Life passed out fun Star Wars toys and activities to patients throughout the hospital.

But it wasn’t just a typical team member delivering the fun: one dressed as the Mandalorian from the movies and brought the force with them to each room.

Employees at C&W were also encouraged to wear their Star Wars gear and join in the fun.

In addition, the afternoon virtual story time for patients centered around the Star Wars theme.

“We take care of kids and we always keep that front of mind,” said Luanne Thomas Ewald, M.H.A., FACHE, chief operating officer of Mott and Von Voigtlander. “These fun holidays and activities contribute to the patient experience and bring extra joy to our patients and their families during their stay with us.”
