U-M Silver Club members’ robot artwork on display at Michigan Medicine

April 18, 2022  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

The artwork in this exhibition was created by members of Michigan Medicine’s Silver Club Memory Programs.

The members of the Elderberry Club (women with mild memory loss) and the Adult Day Enrichment Program (adult day program/moderate dementia) all have a diagnosis of dementia and are living their best lives creatively.

The works on display are three-dimensional mixed media models of robots, along with some illustrations. Led by teaching artists, this project incorporated all creative abilities with participants discovering hidden talents every day. They sculpturally combined recycled elements and crafted biographies for each of their robots.
