April 5, 2022  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Please be advised that DTE is scheduled to be removing and reinstalling cable along Nichols Drive beginning Wednesday evening, April 6.

The work will extend from a manhole by the railroad tracks in Fuller Field to a manhole near the helicopter pad, and then up to the top of Nichols Drive near East Medical Center Drive.

Work along Nichols Drive and East Medical Center Drive (near the Rogel Cancer Center) is expected to occur overnight on April 6 and April 7. DTE will then proceed to West Medical Center Drive and install cable along Glen Avenue during the day on April 8. DTE will have traffic flaggers and signage in place, and two-way traffic will be maintained in all work areas.

In order to accomplish this work, all parking along Nichols Drive (in advance of the M29 parking lot) will be closed beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6.

The closure is anticipated to last up to two days. Parkers are asked to remove any vehicles along Nichols Drive by 5 p.m. Wednesday to avoid being towed. In addition, approximately five spaces will be closed along West Medical Center Drive near the stairs to Glen Avenue beginning the evening of Thursday, April 7 and will extend through completion of the work.
