April 27, 2022  //  FOUND IN: Accolades and Milestones

Mike McReynolds began his nursing career in 1993 in the U-M Burn Unit before the service expanded into the Trauma Burn Unit. He shared his nursing care and expertise at Survival Flight, CVICU, the EP Device Team in the MPU Unit and finally at CVC PACU. Mike has also provided ACLS and BCLS training in Life Support Services.

As a U-M Clinical Services instructor, Mike has helped shape the careers of many nurses working at UMMC. He earned a Masters of Science in Nursing from The University of Michigan.

One of Mike’s attributes is his ability to connect with pre-surgical patients. An accomplished guitarist and singer, Mike is able to summon an appropriate song for every patient and situation, lowering stress and anxiety.

In his 30 years as a nursing professional and beloved colleague, Mike has contributed much to our institution and to the lives of thousands of U-M patients. His comrades in CVC wish him all the best in his future, and want him to know that he will be deeply missed.

The CVC PACU will be hosting a farewell reception with refreshments on  May 4 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.  Please feel welcome to come and share his accomplished career (4th level, Frankel Cardiovascular Center).
