Presentation Skills for Non-Native English-Speaking Medical School Faculty: Session 2

Tuesday, May 17, 2022

12:00pm - 1:30pm

This workshop is a 2-part series (with an optional 3rd session); participants must attend both sessions.

As a non-native English speaker, do you find giving presentations to an English-speaking audience challenging? Does the language barrier sometimes make you second-guess yourself or get in the way of audience engagement, even if you are an experienced presenter in your native tongue? Would you like to improve your verbal and non-verbal communication skills so you can connect with an audience more easily and effectively? If so, please join speech coach and public speaking trainer Eleni Kelakos, The Speaker Whisperer®, and Jiawei Ribaudo, PhD from Global REACH, for a three-session workshop series. The sessions will address the unique challenges you face as a non-native English speaker expected to effectively deliver pitches, presentations, and lectures in English. Through discussion and direct application of tools and techniques, you’ll shift your perception around presenting in English and gain the skills you need to be a more confident and effective public speaker.
