Introduction to Mindfulness Series: Mindfulness of the Breath

Mindfulness techniques can help us connect to a place of inner calm and peace. In each session of this series, a different mindfulness topic will be introduced with an opportunity for practice, followed by a Q&A. Topics will include mindfulness of the body, mindfulness of the breath, self-compassion, loving-kindness, mindfulness of feelings, and mindfulness of thoughts.

The sessions will be led by David Fessell, M.D. David has been meditating for several years and is completing a program to become a Certified Mindfulness Teacher.

This is a 6-week series (3/23 to 4/27) followed by a repeat of the first 3 weeks (5/11 to 5/25). You are welcome to attend all sessions or whatever works for your schedule. Appropriate for beginners or those with experience. These sessions are open to all.

In this session:

  • Gain an understanding of mindfulness of the breath
  • Practice mindfulness of the breath in a guided meditation
  • Experience a Q&A session on this topic
