Description
In this 2-hour course, you will learn how you can make a positive impact in improving care at Michigan Medicine by becoming a problem-solver. Through this interactive session, you will practice four critical steps in problem solving that will help you to participate and contribute to Michigan Medicine being a highly reliable organization (HRO).
Purpose
To introduce all team members to how they can play a positive role in the problem-solving culture within their department and Michigan Medicine.
Learners Will
- Identify with their role as a problem solver to contribute to MM becoming a highly reliable organization
- Demonstrate skills related to surfacing problems
- Explain the importance of working in a standard way
- Apply PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycles to address problems
Expected Results
Participants will walk away from this course knowing how to raise and fix problems they uncover during their daily work so that they will be an effective team member and contributor to the highly reliable culture at Michigan Medicine.
Audience
All Michigan Medicine (UMHS and UM Medical School) Faculty and Staff. This is a great compact course to use for new employee orientation.
