Workshop series: Introduction to mindfulness
Mindfulness techniques can help us connect to a place of inner calm and peace. In each session of this series, a different mindfulness topic will be introduced with an opportunity for practice, followed by a Q&A.
Topics will include mindfulness of the body, mindfulness of the breath, self-compassion, loving-kindness, mindfulness of feelings and mindfulness of thoughts.
The sessions will be led by David Fessell, M.D.
Fessell has been meditating for several years and is completing a program to become a Certified Mindfulness Teacher.
This is a six-week series (March 23 to April 27) followed by a repeat of the first three weeks (May 11 to May 25). You are welcome to attend all sessions or whatever works for your schedule. Appropriate for beginners or those with experience. These sessions are open to all.
This program is a “video-optional,” for participants and may include small group breakout sessions.
Session dates and times can be found on the Faculty Development website.
This workshop is hosted by the Office of Faculty Development but is open to all Michigan Medicine Faculty and Staff.
