UMAISE offers adult adaptive sports club
The University of Michigan Adaptive and Inclusive Sports Experience (UMAISE) is offering an adult adaptive sports club! The club will meet every Monday night from 6-7:30 p.m. at 242 Community Church in Ann Arbor.
Advanced registration is required. Here are the sports being offered:
Martial Arts: Feb. 21
Learn various blocks, kicks, strikes and defense techniques from sensei Dave Reicher in this adapted martial arts class. Practicing martial arts can also increase balance, strength and mental focus.
Yoga: Feb. 28 and March 7
Adaptive yoga teaches participants to focus on their breath while practicing a variety of yoga poses. Each pose is adapted to meet individual needs to ensure a safe and peaceful experience.
Pickleball: March 14 and March 21
This sport combines elements of tennis, table tennis and badminton into an exciting 2-4 person sport. Adapted pickleball can be played with a combination of standing and seated players.
