It’s National Ambulatory Care Nursing Week: Thank you to UMMG nurses for all you do!
Beginning Monday, Feb. 7, the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) launched its inaugural National Ambulatory Care Nurses Week. The start of a new tradition, the AAACN will recognize all nurses in ambulatory care during the second week of February.
The U-M Medical Group is home to more than 1,400 practicing nurses who carry out more than 2.3 million patient visits per year.
UMMG has over 100 specialty care ambulatory units. Nurses serve in many areas such as primary care and care management, population health, ambulatory procedures, infusion services, cardiovascular clinics, surgical specialties, home care, medical specialties, OB/GYN, pediatrics, rehabilitation services, post-acute services and psychiatric care.
Ambulatory nurses serve communities across the state of Michigan. The dedication of these teams is unparalleled because these nurses meet patients where they are: in clinics, virtually and on the telephone.
If you know a nurse in one of these areas, thank them for their expertise, skill, collaboration and contribution to patient care they bring each day.
Happy National Ambulatory Care Nurses Week!
