Free chamber folk concert offered Feb. 8

February 4, 2022  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

U-M School of Music, Theatre & Dance student Grant Flick plays, performs and teaches on violin, mandolin, nyckelharpa and tenor guitar.

For a free livestream concert, he is joined by fellow violinist Hannah O’Brien for an exhilarating and creative collaboration celebrating the duo’s latest recording: Windward.

O’Brien’s classical training and background in Celtic and Irish music combine with Flick’s jazz roots to create a showcase of duets that mix Celtic, Americana and jazz idioms. Rhythmic interplay and technical virtuosity are on display in a program that includes original compositions and arrangements of standards from various American and European traditions.

Concerts are streamed on Michigan Medicine YouTube channel and LinkedIn page. For more info and other concerts in the series, please visit www.med.umich.edu/goa/performances.htm.
