Plan ahead: Maintenance project along East Medical Center Drive

Please be advised that the City of Ann Arbor has scheduled soil boring work on the East Medical Center Drive bridge for this upcoming weekend in order to reduce the impacts to vehicular traffic.

Plan ahead if you will be traveling in the area.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • During the work, the outermost-southbound lane on the bridge is expected to be closed and incoming traffic to the medical campus will be shifted into the northbound, left-turn lane just before the start of the bridge. Northbound left turns will be maintained, but stacking could occur.
  • There may also be temporary lane impacts lasting about 30 minutes, but not occurring at the same time, on eastbound Fuller Road before East Medical Center Drive to unload equipment; traffic will be shifted into the adjacent lane.
  • Eastbound Fuller Road after East Medical Center Drive could be impacted in the same way or the crew could unload equipment from the westernmost end of M-71. No impacts to parking spaces are expected.
  • The work is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 22-23, but may extend into Monday or possibly Tuesday.
