Boost your mood with February’s cooking series
Lack of sunlight in the winter has many of us feeling blue. Research indicates that some foods may boost our mood. February’s two-class series will focus on preparing foods that comfort and brighten our spirits. Chefs will also provide tips to help you save time and cut costs.
Registration is now open for February’s series. Register by 10 a.m., Jan. 27.
Feb. 2 Class (6 – 6:45 p.m.): Comfort Food Classics
The sight or smell of foods we enjoyed when we were growing up can bring back fond memories. This helps the brain release a neurotransmitter called dopamine which makes us feel happy. In this class, you’ll prepare cozy classics.
Feb. 16 Class (6 – 6:45 p.m.): Citrus to Brighten the Cold Winter Days
Like liquid sunshine, citrus can brighten up the darkest day. In this class, you’ll prepare dishes that can boost your mood with a blast of intense deliciousness and a healthy dose of vitamin C, potassium and fiber.
