‘Layered Works of Nature’ exhibit on display at Michigan Medicine
Nationally exhibiting artist Carolyn Swift works in printmaking, drawing, painting and collage.
Her pieces are deeply rooted in the ephemeral qualities of nature: nonstop changes of light, weather, temperature and movement. These natural qualities are both predictable, such as the seasons, and unpredictable, such as wind blowing through the trees. They have seemingly endless variety and give rise to joy, connection, wonder and well-being.
Swift’s education includes an MFA from Indiana University and BFA from Albion College, Michigan.
After living and teaching in metro Detroit for 29 years, she now resides in Traverse City, Michigan.
Swift’s exhibition, “Layered Works of Nature,” is now on display at Michigan Medicine.
