Change to visitor policy in adult hospital

January 12, 2022  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

In an effort to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, effective today, Jan. 12, visitors will temporarily not be allowed in our adult hospitals and in our adult inpatient units.

Some exceptions will be made for certain patients with disabilities or special needs when a visitor is required for safety and is considered essential to the patient’s care. Please see PolicyStat for the most recent visitor policy.

Visitors are also required to wear hospital-provided medical masks at all times in our facilities. Masks must cover the nose, mouth and chin completely. Children may be allowed to wear a face mask they have brought from home if the hospital-provided masks do not fit appropriately.

Masks are required inside Michigan Medicine facilities and the courtyard of the main medical campus, regardless of vaccination status.
