U-M Health earns another ‘A’ for hospital safety

Congratulations to U-M Health, which has once again proven to excel in providing safe care to patients and community members.

The organization earned another “A” from the Leapfrog Group for its hospital safety efforts. It has received the highest score in every cycle since the grading began in 2012. That’s 20 consecutive A’s!

Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades (formerly known as Hospital Safety Scores) are assigned to nearly 3,000 general acute-care hospitals across the nation twice annually.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses more than 30 national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Leapfrog Hospital Survey and information from other supplemental data sources. Taken together, those performance measures produce a single letter grade representing a hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.

Thank you for all you do to make the organization a national leader when it comes to hospital safety!
