As part of October’s Quality Month activities, Ryan Howard, M.D., was named this year’s recipient of the Jack Billi Award for Inspiring Quality Improvement.

Howard is a house officer in general surgery.

“Ryan has incredible humility and positivity that allows him to motivate and energize those around him to make changes,” said Michael Englesbe, M.D., during the award ceremony.

The Quality Month committee would like to thank all who joined in the celebration of Michigan Medicine’s dedication to quality and high reliability throughout October. Stories of growth, learning, success and safety were shared, which exemplified the organization’s commitment to advancing health to serve Michigan and the world. The work done by our faculty, staff, and students is truly inspiring.
