Register now for December virtual cooking class series
During MHealthy’s virtual cooking classes, you’ll interact with MHealthy chefs and dietitians as they share time-saving tips, help you cut costs and teach you how to create tasty dishes using vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts, fish, low-fat dairy, lean meat and beneficial fats.
December 2021 Cooking Two-Class Series
Registration is now open for the December Cooking Class Series. The cost to attend the two-class series is $20. Registration closes at 10 a.m. on Nov. 24.
December classes will focus on adding brightness during the cold season with delicious beets and using nuts to create giftable sweet treats.
Dec. 1 (Noon – 12:45 p.m.): Beets for Better Heart Beets
Beets boast an impressive nutrition profile with a wide array of vitamins and minerals. They also contain plant compounds and pigments that have several health benefits. Beets have been shown in scientific studies to reduce blood pressure, boost athletic performance. In this class, you will learn to prepare an easy and tasty soup and a deliciously flavorful hummus.
Dec. 15 (Noon – 12:45 p.m.): Let’s Go Nuts!
Nuts make for easy, tasty, high protein grab and go snacks or additions to any dish. In this class, you will learn to make glazed nuts, breakfast cookies and biscotti — perfect for gatherings, dessert or relaxing on the couch with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

MHealthy cooking classes support the growing field of culinary medicine, which explores the links between food and health, applying the foundations of nutritional science side-by-side with traditional medical interventions in clinical care.
