‘Healing Botanicals’ photography exhibit on display at Michigan Medicine

November 5, 2021  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Laurie and Sarah Tennent combine their experience as photographer and Acupuncturist-Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner to create large-scale photographs on aluminum of medicinal botanicals combined with descriptions of their properties.

Their goal is to present both the essence and energetics of the plant.

Laurie is a celebrated photographer and Sarah is an accomplished acupuncturist who studied Chinese herbal medicine in China. They share a deep attunement to botanicals and their healing properties and embrace the concept of biophilia, first mentioned by psychoanalyst Eric Fromm, describing it as “the passionate love of life and of all that is alive.”
