Faculty, staff shine at Thanksgiving Day parade

A cold, rainy Thanksgiving morning couldn’t take the shine off what turned out to be a remarkable day for Michigan Medicine.

That’s because more than 20 faculty and staff from C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital paraded down Woodward Avenue during America’s Thanksgiving Day parade in Detroit. Even more cheered them on from the grandstands.

It was the first time Mott sponsored a float in the annual event.

The float featured the Detroit Academy of Arts & Sciences choir singing “Making a Better You,” a motivational piece about staying healthy.

Motty the Mott mascot was also aboard the float and danced and waved to those who attended.
